Winter 2025β2026
Honor the Treaty of 1864 is entering a new phase of growth, outreach, and place-based education. Our winter programming focuses on strengthening community knowledge, supporting treaty-protected practices, and building tools that help our people engage confidently with water, land, and governance across the Basin.
π§ Water Mapping Project (In Progress)
We are developing a watershed-focused GIS map highlighting key Klamath Basin springs, waterways, and culturally significant areas.
This map will support workshops, youth programs, and future publications by making water knowledge accessible, accurate, and community-driven.
This is foundational work that supports long-term sovereignty-based water education.
π£ Winter Fishing Kits (Releasing 2025β2026)
Following the fall salmon spawning season, we will begin assembling and distributing Winter Fishing Kits. Each kit will include:

This initiative reconnects families and youth to winter fishing practices through safe, accessible, and culturally informed tools.

Our updated workshop series reflects community needs and the direction of our current work. These offerings emphasize clarity, self-determination, and the knowledge required to navigate both contemporary issues and long-standing governance systems.

We are developing a community-centered publication that uplifts Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooskin stories about water, land, sovereignty, and resilience.
